Sister Marie Celeste worked at the Bell Telephone Company before entering Presentation Convent in November l950. Even though she didn’t become holy soon after vows as she expected, Sister never considered leaving and was very much at peace with her decision.
Sister Marie Celeste attended Presentation College, Aberdeen, SD. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Regis College, Denver, CO and a master's degree in pastoral studies from Loyola University, Chicago, IL. Sister also earned a clinical pastoral education and is certified by the National Association of Catholic Chaplains. She ministered in Presentation Sisters sponsored facilities for almost 50 years, and served on the board of trustees for 30 years in sponsored hospitals. In the fall of 2006, she retired and now volunteers part time as a Chaplain at Avera McKennan Hospital.
