Biography:
As a Presentation Sister, Sister DePazzi Zamprich served the Sisters’ medical missions for many years. She was head nurse and operating room supervisor at St. Luke’s in Aberdeen, SD St. Joseph’s Hospital in Mitchell, SD and head nurse at Holy Rosary in Miles City, MT. She worked as a nurse in Eagle Butte, SD where she was honored for her service to Native American children. She also worked in public health in Albuquerque, N.M. and AZ.
Sister DePazzi was named South Dakota Nurse of the Year by the National Foundation March of Dimes in 1977. She also received the Distinguished Service Award from the South Dakota chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics. The award is given annually to a non-pediatrician who has excelled in service to the children of South Dakota.
Sister DePazzi has a twin sister, Margie Myers, and from 1989 through 1993 took part in an international twin study conducted by the University of Southern California, School of Mines and sponsored by the National Cancer Institute in Washington, DC.
