Sister Donata Daml
Monday of the Second Week in Lent
Gospel Lk 6:36-38
Jesus said to his disciples:
“Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.
“Stop judging and you will not be judged.
Stop condemning and you will not be condemned
Forgive and you will be forgiven.
Give and gifts will be given to you;
in good measure, packed together, shaken down, and overflowing,
will be poured into your lap
FOR THE MEASURE WITH WHICH YOU MEASURE
WILL IN RETURN BE MEASURED OUT TO YOU
Thank you Jesus, for making this part of the Good News so clear. I also thank you for the inspiration of the Liturgical Committee who located such a helpful first reading from Deuteronomy as well as the other responses for the day. They all reinforce for me the Call for us to love, and to acknowledge our failures to be faithful to this Call of love at all times as much as possible.
I appreciate the ease of slipping into prayer and identifying with the reminders in especially the first reading. They made prayer easy for us. Just enjoy the challenges and draw strength from asking the Lord to help us to be committed in reaching out faithfully in love so that we may grow in love of God and others. May our measure of giving grow…not to receive more, but because God is worthy of all we can give.
