Cojourner Carrie Clausen Hansen
 I can't remember a time when I didn't know about the Presentation Sisters; my mom grew up in Fargo and knew many of the Fargo Presentation Sisters. My earliest memory of the Aberdeen Presentation Sisters is when I was in high school and exploring the possibility of attending Presentation College (sponsored by the Presentation Sisters). I decided to attend PC and came to know Sister Joan well, as well as knowing many of the sisters as instructors. After I began working at Avera St. Luke's in 1985, these relationships grew.
I taught nursing at the Lakota Campus of Presentation College and came to know Sisters Marilyn and Donata during that time. I also had the privilege to know more fully and deeply about the work of the Sisters. When Sister Marilyn invited me to consider being a cojourner, it seemed as if my work, beliefs and the spirit were leading me to join this program.
As an instructor from 1997 to 2009, I was able to live my commitment to the cojourner program by being present for students and reminding them that the Sisters pray for them daily. The love and support of the Presentation community has been tremendous. I hope to become more involved with the community as I now have more time to dedicate.
I would encourage others to consider becoming a cojourner if they feel a connection and commitment to the work and mission of the Sisters. The sisters are real people working in our real world to make it better. You can support and be a part of that by being a cojourner.
